Jerusalem Restaurant

At the corner of Evans and University it is not unusual to find a line rolling out the door, even at two or three in the morning. And this has been the trend for 33 years when the Jerusalem Restaurant opened. The name is as authentic as the the middle eastern food. The owners came from Jerusalem and all the regulars have to be incredibly thrilled!

Chicken, Lamb, Beef...order what suits you, and of course you will find plenty of pita bread, rice, hummus and side salads to spruce it up. My favorite was the green salad- parsley, onions, and tomatoes with topped with lemon and olive oil!

Vegetarian options are also available in many forms! Vegetable Burgers comprised of chick peas, roasted eggplant, falafel, stuffed grape leaves, and a variety of vegetable salads.

And how about some baklava? Or try any of the homemade pastries that catch your eye as soon as you walk in!

Anything you order you will feel the culture and it doesn't just hit your tongue. The cozy restaurant has about ten tables inside situated close together. I felt like I could almost reach over and dip my gyro for some extra hummus! Everyone just seems like one big family here!
